SceneForge Studio

I built SceneForge Studio, a beginner-friendly program that makes pre-vis and virtual production for rides, attractions, and films, easy, fast, affordable, and fun.  It was accepted into 1517 Fund's Invisible College program with an investment into the company's growth.  In 2023, the app was acquired by Vu Technologies for integration into their Virtual Studio Network platform.  You can learn more here.

Holocaust Education VR Experience

This VR application was a prototype for a Parsons School of Design assignment where I had to propose a memorial.  I designed this VR experience to take the user through the story of David Wisnia, a survivor from the Auschwitz Nazi death camp.  You can read more about the project here:  https://portfolio.newschool.edu/judahmantell/2020/10/15/bridge-4-memorial-proposal/

Welcome to Graymount Photo Roman

I've since moved away from working on the Welcome to Graymount VR Game, so in an attempt to get the story out of my system, I created a Photo Roman that tells the story with narration from my lovely wife, Daphna.

A photo roman, put simply, is a sequence of still images that convey some narrative.  This technique is most notably employed in the 1962 film La Jetee.

In my film, each still image was taken with a virtual camera directly in the 3D scenes from the game, then edited in Photoshop.

Parsons' Challenge

This piece was done as part of the "Parsons Challenge" for The New School.

The scene was created and animated in Unity, exported as a mp4, then downscaled and converted to a GIF (Pronounced "JIF").

I then used Photoshop to place the animation into the Polaroid frame.
